Im a HUGE fan of wolves and stuff, especialy fantasy styled wolves with wings or were wolves and all that neat stuff. But i noticed a trend in mythical beasts. Id say 99% of the dragons ive seen with wings, have bat like wings, and a good 85-90% of the wolves and mamals with wings, tend to have bird wings.
I find this extremely odd. For years ive seen dragons with bat wings, so i just went with it. Upon some thinking, about what dragons are, basicaly super powerful lizards or dinosaurs it made me question their wing structure. Birds, having evolved from Dinosaurs have feathered wings, feathers evolving from scales. Makes sense. Some prehistoric beasts in fact had feathered wings, with more reptillian features. So wouldnt it make sense if dragons have feathered wings?
As for the wolfs and such, if they were to be gifted with flight, wouldnt their wings be mamalian wings? The only flying mamal is the bat, so if other mamals were to have wings, wouldnt their wings be similar at least, to bat wings?
Why is it that so many people have that seemingly simple detail, for lack of a better word, wrong?
The same thing goes for Angels and Demons. Wouldnt angels have bat wings, being similar to us, more mamalian, while demons have bird wings, more reptillian, since their leader is the serpent satan?
but then again, maybe im just over thinking things.
